Benefits of Tai Chi

Muscle and tendons

Tai Chi uniquely trains and cultivates the four muscular phases of contract, relax stretch and un-stretch.

Training all four phases throughout the body improves the body’s posture, structural resilience, strength and efficiency.

Joints

With low impact and a moderate range of joint articulation, Tai Chi movement is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

Mental focus relaxation and expansion

Focused, meditative awareness of your body while doing Tai Chi, produces a perfect environment to release residual mental tension and stressful states of mind.

Chi - the Key to good health.

For the Chinese, Chi moves through the body like a series of irrigation channels in a rice field. If the channels are blocked the crops suffer. Flooding is also to be avoided. Ideally Chi moves smoothly, strongly and continuously to achieve good health.

Endocrine Glands and Breathing

Breathing combined with squeezing and stretching limbs is a natural way of waking up the body. Both Animals and Humans ritually stretch in the morning. When the Chinese studied this process they recognized certain movements would stimulate the 7endocrine glands producing feel good healthy hormones and improving many bodily functions.  Ancient therapeutic exercises mimicked the movements of Turtles, Cranes and Deer that move the neck, shoulders, abdomen, pelvic floor, while breathing deeply to release endocrine hormones.

Tai Chi uses these ancient breathing principles to stimulate the 7 endocrine glands to cultivate health and hormonal balance.

The major endocrine glands

1 Pineal gland 2 Pituitary gland 3 Thyroid gland 4Thymus 5 Adrenal gland 6 Pancreas 7 Ovary(female) 8 Testes (male)

Tai chi harmonises the Mind, Body and Chi.

“When the - Mind relaxes, Chi relaxes, Body relaxes.

When the - Mind expands, Chi expands, Body expands.”

The freedom achieved after mastering the mind, chi, body connection is referred to as “freely picking flowers.” Seemingly effortless powerful movements.
